Partner of RINCÓN CUELLAR & ASOCIADOS and Director of the firm's headquarters in the UAE (Dubai). He has experience as a consulting attorney in national and international contracts, industrial property, corporate and business law, alternative dispute resolution systems, arbitration, international contracts, and foreign investment. Professionally, he has acted as a representative for national and foreign companies in various arbitration proceedings, both in Colombia and abroad, under the rules of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, UNCITRAL, ICC, GAFTA, among others. He also currently serves as a partner at Playlegal.
National and international arbitrator, under the regulations of the Arbitration Center of the Chambers of Commerce of Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali, the Superintendency of Companies, UNCITRAL, ADR-Perú, the Arbitration Center of the Commercial Defense League in Uruguay, the Arbitration Center of Mexico, among others. Member of the list of public defenders of the Securities Market Self-Regulatory Authority (AMV).
He is currently President of the Commercial Lawyers Association (CAC), a member of the American Association of Private International Law (ASADIP), a member of the Colombian Arbitration Committee (CCA), the Commercial Custom Certification Committee of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Commercial Practices and International Arbitration Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Colombia, Vice President of the General Assembly and co-founder of the Heidelberg Alumni Colombia (HACO), a founding member and director of the journal of the Center for Procedural Law Studies (CEDEP). He is a member of the ICC Working Group for the updating of recommendations for the use of technology in international arbitration. He is also the director of training and updating programs in various entities, including the National Copyright Directorate and the Superintendency of Companies, covering aspects related to the use of technology in dispute resolution.
He is Director of the International Arbitration Team representing the National University in Moot Courts in Latin America, North America and Europe.
He has been a professor of International Arbitration, Modern Types of Contract, and Civil and Commercial Contracts in the undergraduate section of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, as well as of International Contracting at the Universidad de la Sabana. He was a professor of International Contracting, Securities, Property, Commercial Law, International and National Arbitration, and Procedural Subjects in the postgraduate section of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, at the Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the Universidad de la Sabana, the Universidad de Medellín, the Universidad Católica de Colombia, and various other universities in Colombia.
He has been a guest speaker on numerous national and international venues. He is the author of numerous specialized publications in Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina on international arbitration and contracting, intellectual property, and other topics. He has been a columnist for the newspaper La República and Razón Pública magazine.
