Juan Camilo Vargas López is a law student at the Universidad de los Andes and currently works as Assistant Project Manager at M3 Music, a record label, publishing house, and management company with over 15 years of experience. In this position, he leads the review and drafting of record label, publishing, artist representation, distribution, and split sheet contracts, in addition to managing royalties and phonographic rights. His experience has allowed him to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the music industry from its management, label, and publishing perspectives, collaborating with artists such as Bomba Estéreo, Santiago Cruz, Kat Dahlia, and Duplat.

His background combines professional practice in entertainment law with a solid academic background. He was a tutor for the “Legal Management of the Music Industry” course taught at the Universidad de los Andes, where he tutored topics such as music contracts, copyright, music business models, and legal challenges associated with artificial intelligence. Additionally, he completed the “Copyright Law in the Music Business” program at Berklee College of Music, strengthening his technical knowledge of intellectual property.

He has developed experience in litigation, civil liability, and transitional justice. He was an intern in the Damages and Insurance practice at the firm Martínez Quintero Mendoza González Laguado & De La Rosa and an ad honorem judicial intern in the Special Jurisdiction for Peace. He also participated in the Civil Liability and Insurance program at the Universidad de los Andes, co-authoring a published research paper on defective products in Colombian law.
